The German string manufacturer Pirastro has introduced a new violin string with synthetic core. The new string set „Evah Pirazzi Gold“ offers the brilliant golden tone one would normally associate with gut strings. Tuning stability and extremely short breaking-in period equal the high standard set by the Evah Pirazzi and Obligato strings. The G-string is available in gold or silver wound, the E-string uses an innovative material and is available with ball or loop end. April 2012
The Swedish string manufacturer Prim has developed a new E-string. The E-string “Lisa” is available in the tensions „soft“, „medium“ and „hard“. The string is made of stainless steel and thus is more resistant to corrosion caused by high humidity or moisture from fingers. Equipped with a removable ball end this string can also be used with string adjusters for loop ends. March 2012
